Thoughts on Chicago

We're in our coach - transport for the next fifteen days, heading to Kalona, Iowa.

What a great city Chicago is though. Architecture of great variety and flair, the river snaking around, often dictating the shape and style of the buildings.

Chicago has a definite community feel to it. This was evident yesterday when we went to the baseball game, but also when folks catch on to the fact that we have a different accent to them they are super helpful with directions and information.

Given the chance we'd all like to return one day.

Our hotel The Alłegro on Randolph was also friendly and inviting. Amidst renovations they are still upholding strong standards and wonderful service. The Art Deco theme is very glam. Situated in the Theatre District it is very close to major attractions, shopping and restaurants. The ballet is just next door.

This city has been a real surprise. Art, culture, history and more.

The grand staircase at The Allegro Hotel.

Just one of the amazing art installations in Chicago.

We had a table next to the folk for lunch.
