Andrew Jackson's Hermitage - Tennessee

I don't think I need to know much about American politics or history, but when you're in the neighbourhood it's polite to call by.

Andrew Jackson served two terms as president, during controversial times. He was a republican who founded a Democratic Party. Go figure! Anyway, when he was 13 he was a runner for the Confederates, within 2 years he was orphaned and had to look after himself I guess. By 21 he had become a lawyer. Somewhere in this he became a Colonel, then married well, etc, etc. nice home and grounds.

April 4th, a day always marked in our family - another reason though.

Fabulous oil cloth on the dining room floor. (No photography in the house please )
